It’s that time of year when we look back and contemplate the year that’s been and (almost) gone.
CK Futures has had an incredible year during 2017 and we couldn’t have done it without our lovely customers. Many of the CVs, LinkedIn profiles, supporting letters have come to me via recommendations from people that have used our services.
This means the world to me because not only are we getting increased custom, but it also validates everything we try to do in creating a personalised and quality service that our customers feel confident in recommending to friends and family. Alongside this, we are receiving higher numbers of referrals from Business & Leadership Coaches, Careers Coaches and Recruitment organisations.
Customers are as diverse as ever and we have written CVs for graduates to C-Suite execs in a wide range of countries including the UK, UAE, Australia, America, Canada, South Africa, Spain, France, Poland, Italy and Malta.
We’ve also seen a growing interest in our LinkedIn profile writing with 80% of all customers looking for management level roles and above, asking for a LinkedIn profile. This highlights the growing recognition that if you want to be headhunted, then you need a professionally crafted LinkedIn profile.
I continue to work with the wonderful team at APM Working Capital. Working Capital is an innovative scheme designed to assist long-term unemployed residents in central London to secure sustainable work. This year, I have written 103 CVs for long-term unemployed individuals many of whom have physical and mental health issues and an average employment gap of 14 years. It’s incredibly rewarding work and so far more than 20 users of the service have successfully moved into long-term employment with their new CV, with many more in the pipeline.
My plans for 2018 are to develop my professional CV Training. I have done a great deal of CV training nationwide in the last 15 years, particularly for the welfare-to-work sector. In 2018, I am writing CVs for free for ‘Team Domenica’ a charity that supports 20 adults with learning difficulties per year by helping them to move into employment and hopefully this will grow during 2018. Charities CK Futures supported during the year are Plan International, Water Aid and Toilet Twinning.
We hope you have had a great year too and if you are thinking of making a career change, applying for a job or just want to get your CV up to date then drop us a line. We’re offering a special CV updating service to past customers where if you have a CK Futures CV that’s less than 3 years old and needs updating we’ll do it for just *£40.
I hope you have a wonderful Christmas holiday and a great New Year!
